Berlin Laser Tech Symposium
in-presence
09:00 - 18:00
21 participants signed up for this session
Chair: Prof. Dr. Georg Sommerer, Berliner Hochschule für Technik & Dr. Paul Crump, Ferdinand-Braun-Institut
In this session an overview is given on current trends in technology developments in laser material processing, the application of lasers in analytical and medical applications and quantum technologies.
One key example is presented in detail. Specifically, a new generation of high energy class laser systems is in worldwide development, and high performance diode laser pumps are required to make this possible. The pump sources should operate at ever higher repetition rates, without compromising optical output power, efficiency or beam quality. Long term operation and low purchase cost in €/W is also essential, consistent with use in very large laser systems, as is operation at unconventional wavelengths, to enable new configurations. Presentations will focus on current state of technology, efforts to scale performance and the requirements of upcoming systems.
